Ethics
Bishop Ryan's Model United Nations: World Issues & Social Justice Club consists not only of its primary purpose but also of two sub-teams, one of which is our Ethics Team. Model UN is built on ethicality and morality, and for that reason, many of our discussions include topics that are considered highly subjective and rely on ethics to find an answer.
The Ethics Team competes in competitions known as ethics bowls, which are simultaneously collaborative and competitive events in which teams analyze a series of wide-ranging ethical issues. An ethics bowl is made up of multiple rounds, with two teams competing in each round. The round is divided into different parts, and the teams earn points for their performance in each part. Ethics bowls achieve a level of authentic discussion on controversial issues that is second to none. Our team builds their critical thinking and moral reasoning skills while demonstrating effective civil discourse. This not only enhances our communication skills but also provides many of the skills a debate tournament or Model UN summit may provide.

Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace.
